This autumn Covanta Energy has expanded its UK team with three new appointments. Financial Analyst Viet Nguyen, Senior Planning Manager Anne Dugdale and new Director of Legal Services, Fiona Penhallurick, will all be working from Covanta’s UK head quarters.
Financial Analyst Viet Nguyen joins Covanta from Grant Thornton UK LLP where he was a Senior Executive in Government and Infrastructure Advisory. A Cambridge graduate, he grew up in Birmingham, and is delighted to be returning to the Midlands after four years in London.
Covanta’s new Senior Planning Manager, Anne Dugdale joins from Cory Environmental where she held the position of Senior Development Manager. Prior to this, Anne worked as Development Director at Wimpey Minerals. She studied at the University of Sheffield and graduated with an MA in Town and Regional Planning.
The third appointment is Fiona Penhallurick, who joins the company as Director of Legal Services from Waste Recycling Group (WRG), where she was Group Counsel for its UK projects. Fiona brings with her over 15 years’ experience from her legal career, which has seen her hold key legal and commercial positions with National Grid plc and GEC subsidiary, GPT Limited.
Fiona also has significant national and international project and construction experience, from within the gas, electricity, waste and telecoms sectors, as well as Public Finance Initiatives (PFI) and Public Private Partnerships (PPP) generally.
Commenting on her new role Director of Legal Services, Fiona Penhallurick, said: “I am delighted to join Covanta at this challenging and exciting time. As the new Director of Legal Services I am committed to helping Covanta further develop its services to meet the needs of the UK market.”
Malcom Chilton, Managing Director for Covanta Energy, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Viet, Anne and Fiona to the UK team. Their sector experience will further strengthen Covanta’s UK offering. We pride ourselves on having the sound knowledge and expertise to help meet the growing needs of local authorities across the UK.”
Since entering the UK market in 2005, Covanta Energy’s growth has gone from strength to strength. The company’s continual growth has resulted in the need to expand its national HQ, which has now almost tripled in size to keep up with the growing demand for space at Covanta’s Kingswinford offices.
